Fashion History…The Lilli Ann Label

Lilli Ann was a clothing company started by Adolph Schuman in 1934, in San FranciscoCalifornia. The company was named after his wife, Lillian. During the 1940’s and 1950’s, the label was known for impeccable tailoring, high-quality fabrics, and elegant designs. During the 1960’s, they would produce a Lilli Ann Knits line and a mod-inspired London line. The 1970’s focused on a professional, “businesswoman” look. In 1985 Adolph Schuman died, leaving the company under the direction of his heirs. In the 1990’s, the company was sold and closed in 2000.

The suits and coats from the 1950’s have to be some of my favorite designs of all time. Simply gorgeous <3
